91 300TE 4Matic - cost to replace lines?
Looking at replacing the rear brake and hydraulic lines, plus new bearings in the rear diff (it's whining).
Got a quote of $1200 from Pablo at P&N here in Waterbury CT (recommended highly by folks here on MercedesShop). Wondering if anybody has a feel for the reasonableness of that number?

Be very aware that new bearings in the rear diff rarely fix the whine. The whine most often comes from the ring and pinion gears, not the bearings. The bearings might be bad, but the whine typically comes from the gears, which are usually well over $900 to buy from MB. If the whine can be made to come and go when it is whining by feathering the accelerator back and forth, the whine is almost always in the gear assembly, not the bearings. I had my rear diff rebuilt and the diff is great now, still has a whine though, not much, but still there.
