Blower motor stays on; 1999 C280
Hi folks. I have done a search for this problem, and it's apparent that the blower motor regulator is suspect in many of these cases.
The blower fan stays on even with the car turned off. I have to remove the blower 30A fuse to shut it down. Is it safe to say that when the regulator is unplugged and if then the fan shuts down, the regulator was faulty? Or could another issue be causing this problem? One individual here, benzzman, said the regulator is solid state and it can get wet and short out. We've had heavy rains for the last week, so that sounds likely. I don't know where the motor regulator is located on this vehicle (USA market 1999 C280), and what it looks like? Would it be Any suggestions on access tips also greatly appreciated. thanks so much for any help. |

The blower motor is located beneath the passenger side under dash panel. The regulator mounts directly to the motor. Replacement takes .6-1.0 hrs.
