HELP!! 300e 4-matic steering issues!!

Ok I am really new to steering issues on my Benz. Here is my issue.

I replaced my passenger side front tie rod assembly because I had a lot of play when i moved to wheel back and forth(about 1/4 - 1/2 inch). Now that I have replaced the tie rods I still have the play. I really have no idea what it could be, but I need to get it fixed as it is my daily driver. I could just replace everything but I really don't think that is necessary.

Please if i have not explained anything very well, let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help i get!!

Check the splines joint between the pitman arm and the steering box. I had play there on my car, quite a lot too. There's a bolt that clamps the pitman arm to the steering box axle, and this can be tightened if you're lucky..

Also check the idler arm.

That is the thing on the passenger side which pivots and mimics the arc of the steering box arm.

I am betting its the idler arm.

I will look at all of that ASAP. Here is another thing that may be related.

While driving down the road twice now i have hit small pot holes and then the steering wheel starts the shake back and forth violently. Could this be related to any of these things?
