1988 260E, it was going down the highway, started blowing black smoke and using massive amounts of fuel.

Suggestions needed.

My 84 280e did that and it was the warm up compensator, IIRC. I don't know how similar the 260e system is to that.

It was the blasted E.H.A. valve seal leaking.
