I have a C180 but the battery is flat, when I disconnect the battery to charge it there is a small alarm that goes off at the front of the car. I cannot get this to turn off, I have tried locking the car and unlocking it before removing the battery.. no difference. Anyone know?

Edit: It's a 1996 C180 Classic. The alarm is a factory fitted alarm for that year.
