The lower outer door panels are held on by clips and a screw or two.
If you look on the inside of the door, for sure in the lower outer corner, and I think in the lower inner corner (I can’t remember for sure) there is a Phillips head screw visible with the inner door panel still attached. These screws need to be removed. There are then two rows of clips under the lower panel, along the top, and bottom that need to be released. The bottom clips pop straight out. They are little stubby plastic spikes that fit into plastic retainers that anchor to the door. When I took mine off I went along the bottom of the door with a wide straight blade screw driver placing the blade as close to a clip as possible and then prying it apart.. You should be able to see what’s going on once you get under there. Once All the lower clips are free the top clips are released by tilting the panel up slightly, and sliding the lower panel toward the rear of the car. Keep in mind all this stuff has most likely never been removed and it will be tight. I was lucky, I didn’t break any clips when removing mine, but the plastic does get brittle with age. This is the procedure I used on my 1990 300E with good results. Good Luck.
