M119 cylinder order

This is a really silly question but which order are the cylinders placed on an M119 engine?

is t

Windshield
1 4
2 5
3 6
4 8
Radiator

Or

Windshield
8 4
7 3
6 2
5 1
Radiator

I just got a PO307 code and suspect the coil pack.

I think all MB engines are the same: 1-4 is the right side, with 1 by the rad; 5-8 is the left side with 5 by the rad. Sides as viewed while driving.

Really! How odd, I went to replace the plugs on my M119 engine and found that the plug holes were full of oil on the right bank. So I replaced the the valve cover gasket (what a bast**d job) which leaked every time I re-installed it. I assumed that the leak was from that side.

It may just be a plug then!
