W210 window regulators

* As everyone probably knows by now, the W210 window regulators are secured to the door by rivets, specifically 3/16in (~5mm) STEEL rivets. The common 3/16in ALUMINUM rivets (probably) won't stand up to the use.
* The posts that I've read related to the riveted regulators talk about the option of using bolts and nuts on reassembly, instead of rivets. I'd like to add that the generic hand-operated rivet gun for aluminum rivets WON'T complete the steel rivet installation. You can insert and start the steel rivets, but you can't apply enough tension with the (aluminum) rivet gun to pop the stem off. So, unless you have a steel rivet installation tool, reassembling with bolts isn't an option but a requirement.
* On the W210 doors, 6x12x1.0 hex bolts work just fine. There's no need to enlarge the rivet holes; just thread the bolt into the existing hole. It's a snug fit.
