W126 power window question
hello all, the drivers side window on my 1985 300sd started acting up last week. took the door panel off today and discovered 3 ground down teeth on the gear that rides off the motor to open and close the window. do i need a whole new assembly or can the pie shaped gear with the ground teeth just be replaced. i looked at epc and couldnt find a diagram of the mentioned gear. thanks in advance. jim

It is possible, and it works very well, to build up the ground down area with weld, grind it flat, and file new teeth.
