On a 1973 450SE, How do you activate the windshield washer? The factory book details how to use the wipers, but no a word about the washer? I know where the pump is, but I cannot repair the system if I am not sure how to make it work... Thanks for the help!

Just guessing here on your model, but maybe yours has a foot pump. I was searching through a 1970 250 coupe last weekend and discovered this model had two hoses coming from the washer bottle in the engine bay. One hose fed up to the washer nozzles and the other fed through the firewall to the foot pump.
That was a first for me!!
