W210 190E auto trans question
These are pics of where the bowden cable attaches to the transmission on 2 different auto transmissions. One is from a '90/'91 190E. The other is from a '92 190E. Are they different because one has cruise control? The one with the vacuum hose has an area where it is connected to the trans body that looks like it might leak. The whole assembly seems to wobble a bit. The plain one without the vacuum line is very solidly attached. If I wasn't concerned with having cruise control, are these interchangeable?

Is this normal? Should this be curved or has did it chip off as I was pulling it from the car?

That device is a shift delay actuator. I think on some early models it facilitated 1st gear start offs, but i could be wrong. It has nothing to do with cruise control.
In later cars it is used to make the shifts later when cold to heta up the catalytic convertor.

Yes, but are the 2 different styles that are pictured interchangeable?
Is the one with the red arrow broken? |
