one more for the night. this has been bugging me.
so, my car has a security system installed (ancient viper)
the guy who sold it to me said "it's just too sensitive, so i took out it's fuse" thinking i was smart, i put the fuse back in. bad idea. so the alarm starts going off (verrry quiet alarm) so i turn it off (with the door open. d'oh!) and somehow the starterkill engages. not good, because research shows there's supposed to be a button to disengage it, looking at the "Brain" of the alarm, no wires come out of the starterkill disengage button wiring hookup. having literally no experience working with security systems, and being desperate to have my car working, i figure out how to uninstall the starter kill portion of the system (it was all clearly labeled, lol.) then, to avoid any further annoyances, i just cut the power wire to the security (very diy, eh?) now, the question. i have this functionless box hanging down by my feet, and want to get rid of it and any of its unnecessary lingering components under three conditions: 1. cheap 2. diy-able (preferable, but i could take it to someone else, i'm just very broke) 3. not causing any more problems/lack of functionality to my vehicle. any ideas/tips/resources? i just want the thing gone. |
