A couple of months ago, someone was asking about the possibility of removing a W123 electric sunroof w/o opening it. Well on Monday at a wrecking yard, I was able to prove that it can be removed; the only problem is the headliner must be destroyed - cut out. Once the headliner is out, the closing assembly & sliding feet can be removed from the panel. Then you slide the panel back as usual (3/4) travel, disconnect the frame of the now detroyed headliner, and pull it up and out. Now, slide the SR completely back, remove the sliding side rails, and remove the panel. The doner was an '82 300D w/a locked trunk. (By the way, I'm still looking for the manual parts for this SR panel).
