Power seat

C200 (1999): power seat responds to switches intermittently, only very occasionally, no pattern to failure or response.
Solution? Thanks.

Pull the switch and clean it. A little contact cleaner or WD-40 can do wonders.

C200?

Anyway, I would do a little more testing before pulling the door apart. First of all does this problem only affect one switch and one seat? There is a known problem on '98 W202's affecting the seat operation:

I think there was one '99 reported with the problem also.

Take off the door panel to access the switch and clean it. There is a video of this somewhere if you search.

I had the same problem once. open up the fuse box, and read the underside of the fuse box cover to see which fuse is responsible for the power seats. See if it's making a good contact and give it a spray with some contact cleaner
