seat adjuster and window shorted?
My 1999 E320 seat adjustment buttons are not working properly. They come and go. The windows occasionally do not work.
I have checked all the fuses and they were fine. I replaced the electrical console. I think it was called the electrical switchboard for the windows. The windows work more often than they were but that might had been a coincidence. Is it time to take it to a professional? Is there something more that I can try myself? I am already out $350 on that electrical part that goes under the center console under the window controls. THANK YOU soo soo much for any advice Julie |

ON that car & "most" MB's after 1998, the interior electronics are a network of computers.
Each & every operation are computers signaling each other with commands. You have a "common" problem! ONE of the computers on the network is sending BAD info to all of the other computers. There can be several ways to diagnosis that problem. USING a dedicated MB scanner is one way to find the culprit. Also checking the interior CAN voltages will shed light on the problem. MOST of the time the problem is caused by one of the door control modules...most likely is the Right REAR. ARE you handy with a VOM?
