S320 without close assist option
I just bought for my wife a 95 S320,one owner, very nice shape.Too my surprise the doors and trunk will not close vacuumatic.I tought that the pump/fuse is bad, then I found the original sticker /price MSRP,for the car, this is a US spec ,delivered new at a dealer in the south, bare bones unit,no options what so ever and NO CLOSE ASSIST,against what it was said and written on this forum,it was optional on S320's,I even checked the trunk and it has no disable switch for the system and 1 stage latch not 2 stage like all W140's,honestly I am happy about it,however,I never seen a w140 without that system installed...(car does not have hydraulic shocks either,no heated seats,no cd changer,no traction control...,bare bones for 63000$

The 1995 S320 SWB was the "only" W140 chassis w/o closing assist STANDARD in the USA.
In 1995 the standard traction system was ETS..a form of ABS.
