I took a look at ESP and it looks like I don't have it. So from what you describe I have lucked out. I posted pictures of my ignition switch it's still in the car.

So I already have the K38 relay bypassed and I can now crank the engine. I guess I don't need to worry about DAS. It looks like ESP may be the last hurdle.
