10PA15C vs 10PA17C A/C Compressor

I see that Mercedes upgraded from the 10PA15C to the 10PA17C. Does anyone know if this is a straight replacement.

I've got to replace my 10PA15C in a 92 300D 2.5 and am wondering if anyone has done this swap.
