I recently fixed this problem on my car.
The rubber sunroof drain hose had perished behind the headliner at the top of the A pillar. Water was draining over the upper trim panel, down the A pillar trim, and ultimately behind the dash onto the carpet. There was also some mild corrosion on the drain tube which didnt help things. Cheers, Ben. |

Inspect the cowl underneath the battery for rust. Also there may be some plastic screening allowing air flow into the cowl but keeping leaves out; be sure the drain for this is not clogged.

I had a similar problem with my 90' 420 SEL turned out to be a loose gromit(sp?) on top of the roof near that seam line. Patched it up and she's dry as a bone.

I will look at both as I do know that the battery area is a lil rusty and seal is looking a little old. is the tube rubber?

I will try to induce the problem on a dry day with a water hose
