Brake Light Switch

Hi,

I have searched the forum on this topic extensively. While there is a lot of great information on this subject, I have figured out that this part is under the dash.

My question is can someone give me some direction on how to locate its specific
location and replace it. This is due to my ASR/BAS lights being on.

The car is a 1998 CLK320. Thanks.

I had the same problem on my 2001 SLK230. I replaced the brake light switch and the ASR/BAS lights went away.
You have to remove the plastic cover under the dash below the brake pedal assembly. Then, you will be able to see the switch up by the brake pedal arm.

When you install the new switch, make sure to pull the stem out since it's self adjusting.

Good luck,

Dave
