![]() I was looking over the forum this week when I saw a post about pre 1994 HVAc filters custom made for early 1990 to 1993 W124 300-E sedans. I looked up the information on www.124performance.com/images and was instructed to link on to 124 dash then click on HVAC filters. The name of the company is JR Airfilter also noticed on the box image #1 ALPHAco..LTD. images 1 through 5 show how the filter fits in the vent area just below the windshield. I would like to know if a distributor for these filters is in the USA or how to contact the correct company selling these HVAC filter for the Mercedes-Benz W124. I can be best reached at krwaxbz@yahoo.com. Thank You Bob Geco 1992 W124 Sportline |

If you go to the 'Buy Parts' link above you can buy the OEM Bosch HVAC filter for the w124 (and other vehicles). If you're looking for the distributor, see the link above and give Phil a call, he will probably be able to help you with that.
EDIT - just noticed you're referring to pre-94 air filters. The pre-94 W124 did not have HVAC filters and the techs here indicate the blower motor on those models isn't sufficient to support the added airflow resistance of having an after market filter in place (i.e. the motor will burn out after awhile).

Those claims are total speculation and theory. There is no evidence of any motor failures. I have had no troubles at all with the JR filter installed, and the other people I know using them also have had no problems. While the later blowers (94-95) with the factory dust filter are different, it is simply a physical size difference to allow room for the filters (see photos below).
Also, when the HVAC system is in full recirculation mode, the outside air intake is totally blocked off. These filters, even if totally plugged and allowing zero fresh air intake, would simply make the HVAC system operate in full recirculation mode all the time. I would not worry about it at all. The filters are washable, btw. About a source... here's the reply I received from JR directly: ============================== Hello We have no distributor in the USA. We can send the filter directly to you. Filter 421 is 34.00 euros, + sending cost of 21.00 euros. Best regards Corinne Barthod info@jrfilters.com ============================== ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
