16 valve 190 vacum pods for climate control system
I just did a visual check on my 190e 2.3-16. Directly under the center vent inside the dash are two vacum pods one in front of the other. There is one further in the dash and one closer to the headunit that has a long aluminum arm attached that goes off to the drivers side dash. Is this the recirc door controller? Well, anyways it doesnt move if I push all the climate control system buttons one at a time also engaging the a/c it doesnt move the arm. How do you replace this pod and what do they go for? It has only one vacum line attached to it.
They both sit directly in front of an SRS crash unit. |

The 1 that you see 1st is the footwell vacuum actuator. And the 1 closest to the firewall is the fresh air actuator.
Removal of the console is requires. The fresh air diaphram is a very common failure.

Can you tell me how to remove the upper dash pieces where the climate control system sits? I know how to remove everything up until the head unit. Can you also tell me the location of the master vacuum controller is, the one that controls all the vacuum pods.
