722.6 AT Question

To prevent a short-circuit due to metal shavings on the contact tongues of the solenioid valves, starting on Aug 1, 1997 all solenoid valves were covered with caps.

Is it recommended to retrofit these caps when doing work on these earlier transmissions?

Yes and also update the conductor plate.
