Track Rod

I have a 1978 300CD with a damaged steering/suspension component. The part is a 3 piece assembly that runs from the tie rod to the inside of the hub assembly, composed of two threaded ball type ends and an adjusting sleeve. It is approximately 14 inches in length altogether. I am confused by the terminology I am seeing from different parts sites. According to my Shop Manual CD, it is called a track rod. Are there different names that this might be called with different vendors? Is it sold as an assembly or by the individual components. Any and all help is enormously appreciated.
