1998 e430 shifter problems

When i shift from drive to reverse i get a jerk or clunk sound and feel -otherwise it drives good. - electronic shifter gone bad?

Check your engine mounts.

D to R would be mechanical linkage moving, not electronic.

Check the shifter linkage bushing (2?) also.
