1995 E420 Tight Accelerator

Hey everyone,

I recently purchased my first Mercedes !! 1995 E420. There are a few tweeks that need to be made to the car but overall it is in absolutely gorgeous shape (pictures soon to come) One question I have is with regard to the accelerator. It was pretty 'tight' when I first got the car (from Texas) and squeeky when depressed so I sprayed a little silicon lubricant on the linkages to help loosen it up a bit. It helped but there's still room for improvement. I'm using my dad's '95 S500 Coupe as a gauge for how it should feel. Any other tips/products to help smooth it out a little more?

Thanks!!

Between the engine and the firewall, there are some linkages with some ball and socket connections. A little lithium grease wouldn't hurt.
