vibration from engin or gearbox?

Got a problem I need some help on. My 1999 C280 developed a vibration a few months ago (maybe even a year) which has become progressively worse over time. Symptons as follow:

With the gear lever in Park or Reverse, there is no or very little vibrtion. In Drive with engine running, but stationary, the whole car has a vibration. As soon as I start to take of the vibration disappears. When the car is really warmed-up after a long drive, it will still have a slight vibration when stationary and in Drive, but much less than when it was cold.

What is most likely? Gearbox mountings, engine mountings, or something else??
