e420 heater

Hi,

Been watching this area for a few years.

I now have 2 issues I want to resolve myself.

The area I live in get 40 below in winter and 40+ deg celsius in summer. My heater has been acting up lately, I will run the a/c just fine and for no apparent reason all vents except the center vent will start pumping out hot heater air, move the climate control wheel up or down, nothing makes a difference, once she starts this there is no way to get the cold air from the other vents. If i turn all to hot all except the center vent blows hot air, I realize the center vent will never blow real hot air. The next day she might be fine again....please tell me I do not need to remove the dash, never done that and can just imagine it to be a huge task.

My second problem is I suspect the fuel pump, or at least lets hope one of them. On hard acceleration the car does not pull like it use to, the
revs kinda goes up slowly even with my foot right down (sometimes even like a bit of a stuttered jerking of power, no power, power, no power, all in a split second), but mostly with no real pull. The strange thing is after a hard acceleration in for instance 1st or 2nd gear, letting off the gas she will stutter and run very uneven for a few seconds and then run fine, she will even die if I come to a full stop after a hard acceleration. Start her up and she runs uneven for a few seconds and then one by one the cylinders come on line and she runs again.

I might add that she smells extremely rich at the tail pipe. I suspect the cat is done for, I do not need it in my area and was going to get rid of it,

I realize this is a lot to ask but last time I took it in the dealer hit me with almost $5k in repairs, thus I am avoiding the MB dealer like hell....!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
