94 C280 Water Pump shot -- but...oil spot, too(?).

In the last week, I've dumped a fair amount of coolant twice when I've moved the car after it sat for a while. I guess the weep hole is doing its job of letting me know that the pump is about to go, so that repair is scheduled (anything else I should have done while the fan is pulled?).

However, I also noticed a slight oil spot about 1 foot away -- maybe 1 or 2 teaspoons of oil. Does this have any relation whatsoever to the water pump or is it entirely coincidental? I've noticed no leakage before and upon checking the dipstick the level is the same.

Thanks,

I'm not positive, but I think the dip stick tube merger into the sump can leak, it is an easy fix.

I think I recal reading that on these forums.

Weird -- it did this Sunday and then Monday morning -- hasn't done it since. Not something I'd expect to be intermittent.
