Hello everyone....

Hopefully a simple question and easy fix. My 83 300d fuel gauge light does not come on when the fuel tank is almost empty. When starting , or waiting for the glow plug light to go out, the light does come on, so I know the bulb works.

I did use the search function, always do as I don't want to waste anybody's time, but couldn't find an answer.
