Rearview mirror R/R '98 W202

I've found discussions on older models but I'm not sure if the same routine applies to these newer mirrors. Do I simply yank/pull down on the mirror to remove it with convenience lighting in place? Damage to the existing mirror isn't a concern since I'm replacing it.

Thanks in advance!

I know that when I purchased a mirror for my C230 the instruction booklet that came with the new mirror had detailed instructed on how to remove it.

either here or at www.mbca.org or at club202.com someone posted copies of the instruction booklet.

As I recall it was simply a twist and pull kind of technique and there is a wired plug in there.

Thanks Ethan for the help

I found a vague description over at MBworld.org --- the poster sat in the passenger seat and grabbed mirror with both hands and twisted it towards driver's side and it popped out. I'm aware of the pigtail connector as I see it on the replacement mirror.

I'll give it a shot when the car returns. If you find anything more detailed, please post. Thanks again

out with the old, in with the new

Mirror popped out no problem. The toughest part was prying out the lighting module w/o busting anything because the mirror's electrical connection is in there. Pushing the new one back in was a bear too ... a little silicone grease helped out.
