560sl Transmission Fluid

Hello All,

Could someone tell me what kind of ATF to use when completing a fluid change to the 560sl transmission. The part stores in my area say to use Dextron/Mercron III. Is this correct?
Can I use a synthetic brand? Is there a special Mercedes transmission fluid that must be used?

Thank you for your help.
