Water On The Floor Of My E320

I have a 1995 E320 wagon. I just removed the driver's floor mat and the factory carpeting that has the dense sound-deadening foam on the back of it. Underneath (to my horror), was a small pool of water, the foam was saturated. I can't figure out where it's coming from. There's no rust anywhere. I looked under the car at the wheelwell, no cracks or holes. I'm guessing a drainhole is plugged. The one at the bottom corner of the windshield is clean though. Any ideas?

A/c evap. drains are most like plugged. They are on sides of the trans tunnel.

I didn't even think of those, if clogged they would back up with water into the cabin floor?

Happens all the time. They are made of foam and sort of disintegrate over time thereby failing to deliver the water to the exterior of the car. Just pull back the carpet by the console - not hard to find, or fix.

Dean is right, as usual. When my evaporator was replaced at 130K the guy had a hunch and when he pulled back the rug they did kind of disintegrate. Just old parts wearing out (probably not the best material for hoses though...)
