almost done replacing tranny except one thing...

ok... recently my tranny blew on me and i bought a new one to replace it. I am almost done but have a problem.. when i took out the first one out i broke a piece which is connected to a cable which leads somewhere inside the car. it seems i need to buy that whole cable that comes with that piece(it connects to the tranny. i think the piece is made so you cant shift without pressing brake.) . Now if i buy the cable... HOW DO I REPLACE IT. is it a DIY or do i have to bring it in to the dealer or something.. I have a 99 c280.. any suggestions please..its my only car.

alrite.. ive looked more deeply in the forum and found that it is called the "Park Lock Ignition Linkage" or cable or whatever. Anyways, when I dropped the first tranny, i seemed to have broke the plastic piece that goes into the black piece that goes into the tranny housing. what do i do?? its a 722.6 on c280
