1998 E320 stalling code P0110

there are 130,000 miles on the car.

The car has been stalling radomly. Sometimes when coming to a stop or when cruising. The computer is sending the code P0110 which refers to the Intake Air Temnperature Sensor. MY dealer tells me that the Air temperature Sensor doesnt exist for my model. ANy way this is how this all happenned.

The Car was stalling when coming to a stop one day. The car restarted once then stalled again and wouldnt restart. After sitting for approximately 3 hrs it started with no problems. The next morning the car wouldn't start. It did start up with ether. The next day the car stalled again while driving. This time it wouldnt start back up on ether. Occassionaly it would start for few seconds then stall with a CEL. We then waited approximately 2 hrs then it started right up. Then next day it kept stalling radomly. Eventually it wouldnt start at all with ether or anything. Only time made it start again.

With reading through some threads I thin that it seems to be the MAF. But with a an MAF failure it usually show different error codes. It could also be a cps, but with reading around I dont see anyone stalling while driving because of a cps. Any help would be appreciated.

There also is a hiumming noise that wont stop when the car won't start. The sounf seems to be comming from around where the platic intake tube attaches to the motor. I believe that when the car is in running mode the humming noise does turn off after about 5-7 seconds.

Another note is that this problem is only occuring now on longer drives. I can ususally pull off a 10 mile or less drive with no problem. Is something getting too hot? Like sensor?

Thanks

Here's another thought. While trying to diagnose the problem i unplugged the maf. This may have sent the p0110 code. so maybe this does point to the cps other than the fact that it is still showing the cel light as the cel light isnt typical with a cps failure.

Could it be the cps with a code like P0110 and the cel light coming on when it starts then immediately dies? Thanks

I'd suspect the CPS.
