No need for the H9DC0....though my dealer still has them for about $3.20 apiece....

I just use NGK resistor standard style plugs, they work great. Car runs smooth and strong, and has been getting between 21 and 25mpg. (300E) I've had them in for many thousands of miles now. 0 issues at all. About $16 for a set of 6

Beru /Bosch plugs

I use the non resistor Beru plugs for my 300se /103 engine. Incidendently most are available overseas at $ 2/plug.

I do not fully understand the critical need for the non resistor plugs .Is that due to the fact that the resistor is already in the rotor.

just trying to help...call SparoMobile in Downers Grove Illinois 630-963-8410 and tell them your make and model and the plug you are looking for and they will look it up and tell you the new replacement plug. I live about 5 miles from these cats and have used them for years....they know the skinny. I just did this last summer and they have this giant cross reference database and will tell you that, no that plug is no longer made, it's superceded by Bosch plug blah blah blah... and I say fine, how much...and they tell me...these guys know their stuff....and they have it!
It's awesome...give em a holler and at least you will be given good information I guarantee...tell em Cliff sent ya...

Supposedly....but I've found 0 running difference with resistor or non-resistor plugs.

I was just able to get a set of 6 of the H9DCO Bosch plugs from *F*C*P*E*u*r*o .com. Was very surprised to receive them to say the least!

In my M103 experience going back to 1988 I found that resistor plugs created a slight idle roughness (that I could feel) caused by excessive misfires, and this also increased HC during emission testing to the very ragged edge of the cut points back with the old two speed idle/2500 rev no load test that was used in California prior to ASM dyno testing.

OE equivalent M103 caps and plug wire boots have 2K RFI resistors built in. Adding additional resistance alters the voltage wave form and lowers spark energy, which is what causes the increasing misfires and high HC.

"Lean" idle mixtures (stoichiometric) and relatively high exhaust gas dilution due to the M103's relatively high overlap are tougher to ignite than rich, dense mixtures (WOT), and need a high energy, long duration spark.

In my experience M103s need non-resistor plugs to operate properly including emission tests.

Just purchased a dozen Bosch H9DC plugs on eBay, there is a seller who sells old stock for anyone who’s interested.

I remember wiper blades for 50˘, Casite air and oil filters for $1.

Cars were cheap to maintain through the 70s and 80s. Inflation doesn't account for many of the prices nowadays.

NGK makes much higher quality spark plugs.
