1995 S320 L Dies on the Freeway after slowing down
Symptoms:
A. Problem is intermittent with my 1995 S 320L about 140,000 miles B. The engine dies when slowdown on Freeway (after going really fast, if I suddenly stop/slowdown, chances ARE THAT MY ENGINE DIES - this hapen like 5% of times). It feels like someone has removed 3 of spark plug wires and the car start to rattle and shake and eventually it dies after a few seconds. I can prolong by giveing it more gas, but eventually it dies. C. After the engine dies, Iso I pull over and TURN OFF THE CAR and RESTART and the scar starts JUST FINE, AS IF THERE IS NO PROBLEM and everything fgoes back to normal (I guess that's Control Alt Delete to reboot my car!) I have taken the car to two Mercedes dealers asked that they read the errors in memory and thr tell me there are no errors and that they cannot duplicate the problem. I took the care to a MB independent mechanic, he said the same thing. so far $ 2000 spend and NO solutions. I replaced the Fuel pump and the Pump relay, fuel filters,,, still have the same excact problem |

It certainly sounds electrical but your car does not have the OVP relay. If it was me I'd want to see for myself that there were no fault codes - by reading them on the 38 pin connector.
