Unhappy 95+ S-class tail light upgrade problem.

Recently I got the 95 tail light lens(S500)) from my friend, and I tried to put it on my 94 S500 yesterday, everything can fits in the old spot, but only the "lamp support" can't fits in the new tail light spot, (because the 94 and 95+ lamp position setting is different.) I am thinking to buy the 95+ lamp position, but the only thing that I am worry about is if the wire connector on the lamp support is same as 94? or is there any other way that I can do? I really like the 95+ tail light.

The wire connectors are identical. However, keep in mind that this conversion requires a new trunk panel. My friend did the complete conversion on a 92 300SE, it looks like a 98 now with red and clear taillights.

you mention the "new trunk pannel" is that mean the light bulb pannel or a whole new trunk?

I'm talking about the whole trunk. Look at your friends car closely and you'll notice that the 95+ trunks are curved in the bottom corners. If you were to put the new lights without changing the trunk you would either not be able to close the trunk or brake the lights trying.

Personally, I was thinking of doing the conversion to my 94 S420, but decided not to because of the high cost ($1000+). Plus, it's not something that many people even notice.

As far as I know the harness plug is the same. At least it was in my friends 92 300SE that he converted to the 98 look.

you will also need the bulb sockets with the lamp support.the lamp support is a dealer only part like the bulb sockets,Also you dont have to replace the the trunk lid.there are other ways around that small dilema.and the upgrade will not cost u $1000 bucks.

What are the ways around having the trunk on a 94 S500 fit the new tail light lenses that are 95+. I just purchased the left/right tail light lense, along with the luminous band....I'd be so upset if they don't fit.

I got the right assembly off ebay, just the assembly, the left one I got from a shop that has both the assembly and the bulbs in the back. Is it impossible to use the 94's bulbs, on the right side to fit in the 95+ lense?
