Sunroof grease...
I repaired my sunroof today. I did not have access to the "special" sunroof grease but, I went to NAPA and one fo the guys there recommended Sil-Glyde which is a "Lubricating Compound non-melting, non-freezing, non-gumming, weatherproof." I know is early to see how it is going to hold out but, so far so good. Has anybody use this product before...? By the way, the name is very similar to the MB grease and it is less than $6.00.

Should be sort of like a thin petroleum jelly?

Might be fine. You can also get a small quantity of the official MB grease from www.***************. Was $10 last time I checked. 1-800-741-5252 and ask for Rusty.

Well...
For 04 Diesel: My sunroof was stuck shut and would not open. It just moved up and down. The problem was that one of the lifters was out of the its track. I thought the lifter was broken. It is working fine now.
Guilly: It is. The texture is similar to vaseline. RichardM98: I knew about that source and I am pretty sure you can get it at this site but, I did not have the time to wait. Here is the link: http://www.napaonline.com/NOLPPSE/(S(xy4yh555xchcnu2tuwfunin2))/Detail.aspx?R=BK_7651351_0214766085 I think it will work...and I hope it helps some people along the way. By the way, I do not work for NAPA. I am just passing info...
