Low oil not indicating
I am not getting a low oil light when I am 2 quarts low. The car is a 91 420 sel. Where is the low oil sensor located? I have been all over the engine and have not seen it. I am familiar with the ones on a 86 300e 6 cylinder. Is it the same type? At what level would one expect to have the dash light come on? The light is good cuz it comes on when the ignition is switched on.

On my 1991 300E it was on the driver's side of the oil pan. I assume it was at the 1 liter low level so that when the probe was exposed to 'air' and not submerged in oil it would trip the low oil warning. So I'd start there.
