I didn't look for the date, but the harness appears to be new, inside and out. Even the tape-wrap is clean and new looking. Cutting it open and seeing how nice the wires look inside tends to support my contention there.

Happy to send you the dime anyway, ... or anything else you can use. Need any 124/126/201 parts? I might have it.

Most all bad harnesses and original OVPs have been replaced by now just from age and mileage.... there are a few origs. still out there , but not many would make it this long. It was epidemic.
Just wanted you to be aware of these two Very Common E320 manufacture redesigns. They both raised more electrical havoc then I have ever seen on any Benz and I have seen many Benz in my years.
OVP are so notorious that they get blamed for everything from Bad gas mileage to fading paint............

That's what's wrong with the paint. Thanks!

Spark plug wire. Not the "stubbie" aka: spark plug connector, they were fine, but one of the wires.

I replaced the original (Beru) with Bosch, seems to be a well-made set also.

Although I ordered new coils to replace the blue-sticker ones, it doesn't seem to need them yet. I will likely install them anyway, but I wanted to replace one thing at a time (more than one change at a time tends to muddy the diagnostic water).

Thanks again for the help.

Now time for new tires and anything else it needs.
