not starting, now

1985 380 SE
was running crappy last time it drove at all, acted like it was gas starved... Limped it home...

Changed fuel filter, it was indeed plugged, couldn't blow thru it...

started, eventually... idled up and down... then wouldn't start...

Let it sit a few days, turned the key and started right up and idled fine.. turned key off and tried to restart, nothing...Cranked like normal...

Cracked fuel line @ fuel distributor while pump was running... gotta facefull.. yup there is fuel...checked distributor, a little corrosion of rotor, but not enough to cause a no start... lighly sanded rotor.. no help...

pulled plug, not wet with fuel..pulled line from fuel distributor to injector..no fuel coming thru...check for spark, no spark @ plug

Pulled wire from coil to distributor.. no spark...

Has voltage to coil primary...

Where the heck do I go from here?...

not sure if your car has one, but possibly the ignition control module or ezl if you have one...

my car did same thing but mine is a 92 and has an ezl for sure, eded up going bad, and hence no spark...

if you have one would probably be mounted on drivers fender...

not sure if 85 used them but is possible

Did you replace the ignition coil? I had this issue with my 86 190E and it fired right up after that. It was the original ignition coil. If you have voltage on the primary of the coil and no output then the coil has an open in it
