260e 1986 question

I'm getting a 1986 260e that was brought over from Austria about 15 years ago. It seems to need a new alternator, problem is when I search for that model on websites it doesn't even list that model. It does start listing them in 1987, does it use the same parts? Thanks in advance if anybody knows. Also, any idea on average labor cost to get that done?

Assuming you're in the U.S. there was no 260E until 1987. In all likelyhood your car is very similar to the U.S. 86 300E and 87 260E - but these are obscure questions that you will need to learn to research yourself. The international version of the EPC would be the place to start. It's not clear to me if that's extra cost or what you get for free in the U.S. Let us know if/when you find out.
