That one looks amazingly like the 95 E320 I am considering. Dark Green over Grey. However this one is Grey Interior leather.

I was not aware these came with Headlamp wipers. The one I am looking at does not have them I do not think.

How does one go about field testing for Head Gasket condition other than the obvious if there is oil in coolant or visa versa?

The color is called avantgarde green...

Hardly anything too avantgarde about forest green.

Tyler,

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I keep going back and forth between being happy for a nice guy and a great find, and being blind with jealousy.

My suggestion for a name is "Benzin".

In Germany, gasoline is called Benzin (which is derived from the chemical mixture benzine).

Ours has headlight wipers too. They are nifty.

Man, what a deal! Actually, it's kind of depressing because it means my '93 sedan is only worth 2500 bucks. Guess I'm keeping it a while longer.

Once you go 124, there ain't no going back to 123. BTDT, learned the hard way.

My '94 has a similar dark green called Malachite Metallic.

For U.S. market nomenclature there's only a couple of greens in that era - spruce green #249 and brilliant emerald #269. A lot of the Euro names get picked through the Russian website but U.S. auto paint stores generally don't recognize them.

Brilliant!!! I'll throw Ben out there and see out it feels. When he misbehaves, Benjamin seems appropriate.

True, mine is called "Emerald Green" in the US, Malachite in DE, and the green in the photo looks more emerald. My lower panels are a lighter green, not gray and for some reason I can't find the pairing/combination chart to see if Emerald Green came with gray panels in '95 (rather than Spruce Green).

Malachite is the Spruce Green, or Malachit in German. Brilliant Emerald in Europe is Tourmaline Green or Turmalingrun in Germany, with an umlaut over the second u, which I don't know how to type.

The car cleaned up really well today. Here's some more photos:

The third one shows the only flaw on the body, down by the rear bumper. Its childs play compared to what I've done with Norm.

Let members of your family drive that one..... I think they may like it. Its much more modern and refined than the W123.

Congrats!!! Enjoy! I think you should call her "Minty."

We've had the 124 wagon for nine years. I swear that if I could have only one car for the rest of my life, it would be a 1994 or 1995 S124 wagon.

Your interior looks really good, but here's one thing: Several golf pencils cut to size, stiff card board cut to size, about ten medium binder clips, and 3M fabric adhesive in a tube... what you need to mint up the door pocket vinyl.
