380SL vacuum leak TROUBLESHOOTING...

Just got a new hand vac pump&gauge and want to troubleshoot an oscillating idle and would appreciate guidance from anyone successfully having dealt with this.

If there's a website or post that deals with this car's problem, please
let me know. I found one but it's for diesels and, being a novice, I need the particulars for this car.

If this is unavailable, a written narrative of the rudiments (assuming as little as possble)... would be a blessing for the entire group I assume.

If someone could outline the fundamentals and others join in to accumulate a sort of vacuum-wiki, a lot of posting redundancy could be avoided and efficiency enhanced, it seems to me.

If I've missed what I seek, pardon my dust and set me aright :-)

Thanks so much to all involved in this group,

Courtney
