'93 300E 2.8 transmission

Hello again folks,

My '93 300E 2.8
(Automatic) runs fine only problem is it is not changing gears from 2 to 3 until reaching 60 degrees engine temp(Inside gauge). This is problem when you first your car from cold. Once engine is hot After that it runs smooth and change gears without problem.

What is wrong with it? is there something that i should look into particular or leave it as it is?
What relation is there between temperature of engine and transmission shifting?

It's supposed to do that, it warms up the catalyst more quickly, which reduces pollution. It will upshift to third gear at about 4000RPM. Use the search function to ready about "upshift delay."
