After nearly 400 miles on M1 0w40.....oil level was still unchanged at the max level......so it can't be burning much if any....we'll see as we drive it farther, but I think consumption is very low....

I kind of hate to admit it, ... but isn't it nice to be buying gasser oil? So easy to find.

Nah, I get it the same place I get my diesel oil. I use Rotella 5w40 syntheic in my diesel....its available in gallon jugs at autozone for $19.99.....the 0w40 stuff for the M103 is expensive!! $7 a quart!

Thats over $10 more for an oil change than my diesel.....however, it can be run longer...so it equals out.

In update to the starting issues, its "less crabby" starting from cold, but still takes about 5-6 seconds of cranking....down from 10 seconds, but there must be another issue....I'll do more diagnosis and figure it out.... Warm starts are fast and easy, fires right up and idles at 700. It runs better on the new spark plugs, very smooth, and mileage went up by like 3mpg....seems to be getting about 23ish now....

I've already driven over 500 miles in it in the past week, its a blast to ride in!! The miles just glide by!

Bosch no longer makes the proper non-resistor spark plug for the M 103 engine. Use either a Denso T20EP-U or NGK BP5EFS. You'll be VERY HAPPY with the results!!!

Thats a myth, they do indeed still make non-resistor plugs. I got the Bosch Germany ones from the dealer, and they work great.

I tried for hours to find a place or source for the Denso or NGK plugs, and was unable to locate any. Where do you obtain them??

I bought my NGKs at Autozone.

I called them and they said they don't have them....

My Bosch plugs said "Copper Core" on the box, and on the plug itself they say "R0" which I took to mean "0 resistance".....am I right? I find it hard to believe the dealer would sell the wrong plugs.....
