Interior Light Problem
I have an 87 300TDT and for some reason the int lights came on and stayed on. I have checked the door switches and all seem fine. I have had to unplug the front ones to make them go out. Also the seat belt warning will flash constantly even when buckled up. Anyone have this issue before? Is there a delay solenoid or something like this on this model? I have had the light apart and it looks like a light to me. My wife is getting a little crabby with no interior light. Please help.

This is not a fix but a temporary solution, until you (and I, since I have a similar issue) can figure out the answer.
Plug all your lights back in. Disconnnect your battery for 2 or 3 minutes. Reconnect your battery. It should jump the short for a bit. My lights come on and go off fine, but the shifter console lights go out after about 20 minutes of driving. Then they come back on a little later. I must have loose contacts or something. |

Well I will try that for sure. I have no clue where to find the delay module. It seems no one else on the site does either as I haven't got a reply until now. If I figure it out I will email you. Thanks

Seems if you lubricate the latch( on the door) periodically it resolves the problem. You may want to look into a stuck relay in your under the dash fuse box, if stuck it will keep those lights on, just did it and it corrected the problem

is there a switch in the latch? There is one in the jam but it works fine. The relay sounds like a possibility, which one would it be?

What to look for(relays)
These relays usually are behind the instrument cluster. First pic is your seat belt relay. And second is the dimmer relay.
However on some older models, the seat belt relay also controls the dimmer function of the interior lights. |
