Fuel Gauge Dead

1989 190 2.6 doesn't read, what area should I start at? All other gauges are working fine.

it your could be instrument cluster too. to test the sending unit you can use a special tool or simply remove it and measure the resistance of when its full and empty and see how it compares to spec.

Unplug sending unit and jumper from Bu/Blk wire to Br wire..
Key ON....... gauge should read Full.
If NO, gauge circuit is at fault ..if Yes, sender unit is at fault.

Test for Reserve lamp is jumper Bu/Grn and Br at same plug w/key ON......Reserve lamp should light.
