Fuel pump relay? 190 2.5-16
My car just died on me this morning. I tried to restart and noticed i am not getting my usual fuel pump buzz.
My first thought was the fuel pump relay, i have done a few searches of the forums and tried to jump pins 30 and 87 of the relay socket, but still no joy. I have only got a very thin piece of wire to test it with at the minute until i can get the car home. Would this matter ? If it is not the relay, which is only a couple of years old. What else could it be ? My pumps are quite new also and i have 2 so i wouldn't think it was them Maybe i am not jumping the right pins. Can someone please confirm that it is pin 87 and 30 i need to jump ? I would be greatful for any other ideas. Thanks Dave |

If you try jumping that relay with thin wire & the pumps are good, the wire should get HOT.
Yes, 30 & 87 are correct.

I didnt notice it getting hot, but then i didnt have it in for long.
I jumped the pins then turned my ignition on but still no noise from the pumps. If i get hold of a multimeter how do i test the socket ? If its not the relay , what else should i be loking at ? Thanks |
